Wow, to say that this was a weekend full of transition would be an understatement ... here are some of the highlights from November 5/6 at Constance Free Church:
  • Our Saturday afternoon venue (now renamed The Current: Unplugged) moved to our Atrium and those who attended gave overwhelmingly positive feedback.  It has become an intimate gathering with an entirely different "flavor" than any of our other worship venues.
  • We began live streaming to our video venue Traditions (instead of pre-recording it on Saturday nights) and it went very smoothly!  Those in attendance at Traditions appreciated the "live" experience.
  • In order to accomodate the programing needs which now provide live streaming for Traditions, we changed the format of our largest auditorium venues (The Current) quite a bit.  These changes were also well-received.  We no longer include verbal announcements in our worship experiences, our teaching pastors will begin teaching earlier in the service, and we will close every service with an extended time of worship.
Phew!  Jennifer Malinak led worship at The Current today which freed me up to make sure that all of the implications of these transitions were going well.  All in all, it was a tremendous weekend and I'm excited about ALL of the changes we've now implemented.

Today's teaching theme was anger (James 1:19).  There's no better antidote for anger than a better understanding of God's love for us and how that should translate to our relationship with others.  In light of this, we chose a lot of songs about various expressions of love.
